What is a Postpartum Doula?
Because caring for a new baby should also mean caring for the person who brought them into the world.
A postpartum doula provides nonmedical, practical, informational, and emotional support to families as they adjust to life with a new baby.
How Can a Postpartum Doula Help?
The postpartum season is filled with beautiful moments, big changes, and plenty of questions. Having an extra set of knowledgeable & caring hands can make a meaningful difference.
My role is to meet you where you are, offering the kind of support that helps you feel rested, reassured, and more confident as you settle into life with your baby.
Emotional Support
A listening ear, gentle encouragement, and a judgment-free space to share your feelings, questions, and concerns as you navigate this new chapter.
Practical Household Support
Help with light household tasks, baby laundry, bottle washing, simple meal preparation, and other little things that make your days easier.
Newborn Care & Education
Hands-on guidance with feeding routines, diapering, soothing, safe sleep practices, and understanding your baby’s cues and development.
Whole-Family Support
Helping partners and siblings adjust, supporting family routines, and creating opportunities for parents to rest, recharge, and connect.
What Does Postpartum Support Actually Look Like?
Sometimes the most meaningful support comes from the simplest things.
Imagine having someone there to hold and soothe your baby while you take a much-needed shower, enjoy a warm meal, or simply rest without feeling like you need to be doing something else.
Maybe you have questions about your baby's feeding patterns, sleep, or development. Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice, or you're wondering whether what you're experiencing is normal.
Or maybe you just need another pair of hands to fold the baby laundry, wash bottles, prepare a simple snack, or help an older sibling feel included.
Some days, you might want guidance and reassurance. Other days, you might just need a little breathing room.
That's the beauty of postpartum support. It looks different for every family—and sometimes different from one day to the next.
Understanding the Role of a Postpartum Doula
Support that complements your care—not replaces it.
A postpartum doula offers nonmedical support, education, and encouragement during the transition into life with a new baby.
While doctors, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals focus on medical care, a postpartum doula focuses on helping families feel supported, informed, and confident in their everyday experiences.
My role is to provide practical assistance, share evidence-based information, offer a compassionate listening ear, and help you find additional resources when needed.
I don't diagnose medical conditions, provide medical treatment, or replace the guidance of your healthcare providers. And while I offer emotional support, I don't provide mental health therapy or counseling as part of my doula services.
My goal is to work alongside your family's existing support system, helping you feel cared for as you care for your baby.
Is Postpartum Doula Support Right for Your Family?
You don't have to be struggling to deserve support.
Whether you're preparing to welcome your first baby or your fourth, every postpartum experience brings its own joys, challenges, and adjustments.
Perhaps you're hoping for a little extra rest, reassurance as you learn your baby's cues, or an experienced helping hand as your family settles into a new routine.
Maybe you live far from extended family, your partner is returning to work, or you're simply looking for someone who can offer practical guidance without judgment.
Whatever your circumstances, you don't need a particular reason to ask for help.
Every family deserves to feel supported, and every parent deserves to feel cared for.
